I want to know the name of this book?

its about a girl, forgot her name but i think it starts with a ' D ' .. also she moves from the west to the east, and she reinvents herself, i remember in the beginning she stays at the mall to like study habits of teenage girls and what they shop for. I'm sorry for so little detail, i just want to finish the book :(
